Why strive for Blackbelt
The achievement of a black belt proves that the student has endured vigorous training, demonstrating strength of character, determination and excellent training ethics, all qualities associated with being contributing members of society.
The preparation leading to getting a black belt degree is a stressful one, where the student is given the opportunity to push themselves beyond their limits in preparation for the big day. The examination is only a formality that proves the student’s acquired abilities that will enable him the grasp the full essence of the art.

The black belt informs others about the level of the practitioner.
The black belt is a stamp of approval from the head instructor.

Ranking will also help people estimate your abilities for sparring fights, which in turns will help in pairing up with a suitable training and sparring partner.

Your black belt rank can be used to put on your resume, this shows employers many things about you as a person-

As a new black belt you feel a sense of achievement and self pride in your journey to black belt. this builds self confidence self esteem and self worth. Now you have risen in rank you are now a mentor to other aspiring students. Here you will assist other students through to their own black belt and show a good example to other students on how to conduct themselves.

Your journey continues now that you have achieved
1st dan you can set your sites to 2nd dan.
After 1year of training you are able to grade up to 2nd dan then 2 more years to 3rd dan then 3 years to 4th dan.
​
Once you are 4th dan you can open your own dojo or club or you can open one under an affiliated higher rank who you will be annexed under if you are not 4th dan.
